“There is no rush to rush back into the human rush.”
Over a year of returning to the same place in Hackney Marshes, something integrates. Not changes — integrates. The separation between your rhythm and the rhythm of the land quietly dissolves, until you can’t quite remember why you ever experienced them as different.
We don’t visit nature here. We tune into it slowly enough that it becomes possible to actually taste it — which is harder than it sounds. Human time makes us move through places rather than with them. Moving with the seasons is a practice of unlearning that. Of letting nature time do what it does, which is ground you back into your own rhythm — the one that was always there but is almost impossible to trust inside the speed of everything else.
What would it take to actually trust it for once?
What participants say
“I‘ve been attending Claire’s monthly outdoor sessions for over a year, and they’ve had such a profound effect on me that I can’t imagine my life without them. I came to her work unsure of exactly what to expect, but trusted my gut feeling that she was providing a safe space to explore something unique. I had high expectations and wasn’t disappointed. Her gentle teaching style has helped me grow in confidence and explore movement in ways I never would have imagined. Regularly working outdoors and embracing the environment, whatever the weather, has been hugely important to me as it’s helped deepen my connection to the natural world and seasonal changes. Even on days when I’ve felt lazy or introspective, I’ve left the session energised and deeply nourished. Moving with the Seasons is now under my skin and I can’t wait to see what the next year of moving together brings.“
Layla, artist
“Claire’s Moving with the Seasons workshops have opened my awareness of the more-than-human world through all the senses, while freeing up expression of movement to relate to the environment and its inhabitants. It has been invaluable to me as an artist and I have been feeding this sensorial experience into my drawings.“
Sarah, artist and curator
“Claire’s been a skilful, sensitive and playful guide in the natural space that’s held us through the seasons. I’ve loved the opportunity to move and rest in nature, and, in welcoming community — such a simple, and profound practice.“
Killian, Eco-psychotherapist & Open Floor Teacher
“Moving with the seasons has been a lovely journey into being in one place, and building connection with a very special piece of land. Returning in all weather as really deepened my connection with elements and seasons too, whilst also helping me to tune into my body, and see what emerges as I keep returning. Very grateful for Claire’s kind and supportive holding of the group, which always allows me to drop deeper into that connection.“
Fran, artist and plant friend
Structure of the year
12 monthly sessions, running September 2026 to August 2027.
10 regular sessions, each lasting 1.5–2 hours depending on the weather.
2 full days — in September and in May. Each full day begins indoors with movement practice as preparation, then moves outside for the majority of the day. The September day orients the group to the year ahead; the May day offers space to go deeper into what has been building. These are the anchor points of the year.
Sessions run whatever the weather. Rain, wind, cold, heat — we move regardless. Come prepared: waterproofs (top and bottom), warm layers, a flask, snacks. Learning to move in the body you actually have, in the conditions that are actually present, is part of the practice.
We return to the same spot. Again and again, through everything the year brings. That repetition is not incidental — it is the practice. Returning is how you begin to notice what was always there.
One free 1:1 session is included, bookable at any point to support your process or catch up on a missed session. Further 1:1 sessions are available at £20 until the end of the programme.

How to apply
The next cohort runs September 2026 to August 2027. Exact dates and times will be chosen with selected applicants between 15 and 31 July. Sessions will most likely take place at weekends, with evening options in summer when the days are longer.
- Send me an email to express your interest.
- Fill in a short registration form outlining your intention and sharing your availability. This helps me set up an initial poll — these are not the final dates. You’ll have the chance to choose again once the poll is shared with everyone who has paid a deposit between 15 and 31 July.
- If you’ve never worked with me before, please check with me first to see if this mentorship is suitable for you.
- Pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 or the full amount before 15 July 2026.
- The full balance must be paid by the start date in September 2026.
Those who have confirmed their place by paying a deposit will then be invited to complete a poll to finalise session dates by 31 July 2026. After that, joining is still possible until the start date in September, provided you can attend all agreed sessions.
This is a closed group so there will be no possibility to be part of it once it has fully started. I also offer regular outdoor movement sessions in Wick wood which can be attended on a drop-in basis.
